Toning — Spectra + PicoPlus Pigment Laser

Spectra + PicoPlus low-fluence toning

Toning — Spectra + PicoPlus Low-Fluence Pigment Laser

Toning is the most fundamental approach for melasma·freckle·post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) management. ABLE Dermatology Songpa uses Spectra and PicoPlus for combined low-fluence repeated toning, gradually thinning melanin and improving overall tone.

Different mechanisms — Spectra delivers thermal energy, PicoPlus uses picosecond-domain photoacoustic effect. Combined alternating use improves results and reduces rebound risk.

Toning Indications

Recommended for melasma·freckle·PIH·overall tone unevenness — for sustained safe pigment management.

  • Melasma — Low-fluence repetition for safety
  • Freckles·blemishes — Combined thermal·photoacoustic
  • PIH — Post-inflammatory pigment lightening
  • Tone unevenness — Overall tone uniformity

Toning Procedure Process

  1. Spectra Q-switched ND:YAG
1064nm/532nm dual wavelength, thermal energy mechanism. Effective for deep melanin (melasma).
  2. PicoPlus
Picosecond-domain photoacoustic effect with minimal thermal damage. Effective for fine pigment and PIH minimization.
  3. Combined Toning
Alternating Spectra and PicoPlus across sessions to leverage each mechanism. Minimum recovery, same-day makeup possible.

Post-Procedure Recovery

Minimal recovery — light erythema settles in hours. Same-day makeup possible. Mild dryness possible — moisturizer helps.

  • Strict UV protection after each session (SPF50+)
  • Avoid sauna, hot bath, intense exercise on procedure day
  • Avoid strong exfoliants and irritating ingredients during program
  • Whitening creams only on doctor advice

Frequently Asked Questions About Toning

How many sessions needed?

Typically 5~10 sessions at 2~4 week intervals based on severity. Maintenance schedule designed after improvement.

Is melasma rebound a risk?

Repeated low-fluence aims to minimize rebound. UV protection, hormonal triggers, and trigger lifestyle factors continue to matter.

Spectra vs PicoPlus — which is better?

Different mechanisms — both have strengths. We design alternating combinations based on pigment type, depth, and patient skin response.
